Online EMT Training
EMT training online requirements will differ as per the certification needed by the candidate. EMT Basic, intermediate and Paramedic certification all needs a mix of practical education and classroom training.
In general, it is important that the Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) must be licensed and the rules for the same differ from one state to another in the United States. The National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians shortly known as NREMT offers standards for certification and these standards are applicable to most locations. However, some states have their own examinations, while some states have their own additional guidelines, other than the guidelines specified by the NREMT.
To be eligible for NREMT certification, it is important that candidates must complete the program from an approved institution and they should also complete the practical and written examination. The US Bureau of Labor Statistics also specifies that the candidates must have completed 18 years of age and they should have clean criminal records too.
When talking about basic Emergency Medical Technician training, it is important that candidates must take up a minimum of 130 hours of classroom and practical education and the same should be completed within 2-4 months.
